Over 1,000 nurses pass in special exams

MANILA, Philippines — The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Saturday that 1,156 out of 1,806 or 64 percent of examinees passed the Special Professional Licensure Exam (SPLE) for nurses, which were held in testing centers in Singapore and the Middle East.

"As per the Board of Nursing, the tests draw basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the major subject areas, specifically in fundamentals of nursing, including professional adjustments, maternal and child nursing, community health and communicable disease nursing, nursing of adolescents, adults and aged, and mental health and psychiatric nursing," the exam's description wrote.

Below are the top 10 passers during the special exams:

  1. Susana Rodriguez Evangelista - Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (86.20 percent)

  2. Ara Jane Flores Tudio - University of Nueva Caceres (85.80 percent)

  3. Michael Havera Chua - Perpetual Help College of Manila (85.60 percent)

  4. Michael Angelo Villanueva Mendoza - Filamer Christian University, Genalyn Valdez Palaspas - Manila Central University-Caloocan City (85.40 percent)

  5. Anavie Victoria Nabong - Arellano University-Manila (85.20 percent)

  6. Veronica Hernandez Banasihan - Collegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba, Alexander Dayata Tengson - Martinez Memorial College (84.80 percent)

  7. Aileen Domingo Rodriguez - Wesleyan University Philippines-Cabanatuan City, Mashora Maguindra Salwang - Medina College-Pagadian, Rica Monica Reyta San Pablo - Unciano Colleges & Medical Center-Antipolo (84.60 percent)

  8. Joan Efa Abeira - World Citi Colleges-Quezon City, Nestor Chong - Our Lady of Fatima University-Quezon City, Gerocel Delantar Filosopo - Iligan Medical Center College Inc., Jedah Bandola Salao - De Los Santos-STI College Inc. (84.40 percent)

  9. Grace Anne Salonga Buluran - University of Perpetual Help System DALTA - Molino campus, Lianne Fontecha Cueva - President Ramon Magsaysay State University-Iba, Jacqueling Sia Juliano - Nazarenus College Foundation (84.20 percent)

  10. Melissa Marie Almoute Lutana - Metropolitan Medical Center College of Arts, Science, and Technology (84 percent)

The schedule for online appointments in obtaining their professional IDs and their certificates of registration are to be announced and the PRC advises an online registration through its website.

"PRC emphasizes that successful examinees must complete their registration in person and sign the Roster of Registered Professionals," the PRC said.
